2012 Fashion's Night Out: BBC store

Annually when Fashion's Night Out comes around and I prepare my itinerary for the night, I always make it a point to head to BBC in Soho. Pharrell is a lifetime hero and style mentor to me and I'll always support what he does because I feel it's everything I AM. This year I had the fighting chance to meet him since he released a special edition NYC BBC shirt for the event, along with wristbands for the first 100 guests. Jetson and I were included in that group of 100. It meant everything to me to be able to bring Jetson to meet someone that I looked up to growing up, even if he only is 3 months old, this will be a memory we'll share later. So Jet and I ventured our way down to Soho, waited in line all night. While we we're waiting I was approached by a woman that worked for Pharrell's youtube channel IAMOTHER and she asked if she could use footage of Jetson for their youtube coverage, and of course I aggreed. The day was so great, amazing to hear all these people's stories of how they had been influenced the same I had been, one guy drove from Ohio just to buy the t-shirt. Several hours later and there it was..heading up the stairs and seeing Pharrell from afar I lost all thought of what I waited all these years to tell him. While waiting in line, Rajon Rondo from the Celtics showed up, (he was interning for GQ Magazine and came to the event to talk with Pharrell about fashion.) Finally our chance came and people started snapping photos and here I am making small talk with Pharrell. I had him sign my faux Chanel snapback and he told me Karl wasn't going to be happy with him, I laughed and told him it crazy he's actually friends with him and would have to have that conversation and he laughed and pointed to the faux Chanel combat boots, see what I mean when I say that I will always support him, because everything he does, I AM. So I may never have got the words out to let him know his influence over the years, but it served as a testiment that I brought my 3 month old son along, we said our goodbyes and he told me I had "great style" I walked away and told Jetson to say bye to Pharrell and Rondo, they laughed and I left on a high that lasted that whole week. On the way out bumbed into this lovely lady, Maxine Ashley, if you haven't heard of her, do yourself a favor and check her out, she can blow and has a sick style of her OWN.
